Zie enkele voorbeelden:

Val d’Orcia | Trekking & Bike Routes
The itineraries suggested here take you along ancient trails and through incomparable scenery, savouring the rich variety of flora to arrive in picturesque villages steeped in history and to meet the local people who are ready to welcome you to their corner of Tuscany. Tourist and trekking guides are available.
The trails are usually marked with red and white stripes on trees, fences or rocks or small signposts, though they are not always easy to spot. The trails can also be found on the following maps: Carta Turistica e stradale – Val di Chiana Val d’Orcia – Sentieri della Provincia di Siena – Val d’Orcia
Along the via Francigena
This itinerary starts at the fortified farm or “grancia” of Spedaletto and initially takes you along the tarmac road in the direction of Contignano. At the first crossroads turn left in the direction of Pienza and after about 1km turn right for Monticchiello then after a short distance turn right into a track that takes you through an unforgettable landscape, continuing on in the direction of Bagno Vignoni until you arrive back at Spedaletto.
Bagno Vignoni
From Bagno Vignoni there are two possible itineraries. Itin. 1 – Just after you leave the main Cassia road towards Bagno Vignoni on the left there is a trail which passes close to the banks of the River Orcia through an exceptional variety of flora and travertine rock to climb up through woods, towards the castle of Ripa d’Orcia, to arrive at a T junction with a dirt road. Turn left for the castle, just before arriving at the castle there is a small track on the left that leads onto a ledge with amazing views over the gorge of the Orcia. To continue on the walk turn back and continue along the dirt road for a few kilometres until you reach a turning on the right which heads down to the hamlet of Vignoni alto and back to Bagno Vignoni
Itin.2 – Before the tourist office on the right is a dirt road which climbs up between olive groves and vineyards to arrive first at the medieval hamlet of Vignoni then continue on to a T junction, turn right here and head straight on for San Quirico d’Orcia.
Radicofani – Contignano – Gallina
From the post office in Radicofani take the road to the right of the bar and continue along this road for quite a few kilometres until you reach a tarmac road. Cross this road and head into woods along a signed footpath which follows the course of the stream the Socenna, that has to be crossed a few times. The path takes you up a steep hill to a sheep farm Casolare Scansano and just before the farmhouse heads left across the fields passing along the top of the clay hills known as calanchi then goes down through oak and broom to a tarmac road. Go right along this road until you arrive at a turning on the left for the farmhouse il Pero. Take this dirt road, cross the bridge over the river and then go right along the river bank following the trail which then goes up to the left to arrive at the village of Contignano. From the cemetery a dirt road takes you through woods and farmland to arrive at a tarmac road. Cross the road and head up to the left. Take a road to the right which goes over a bridge which crosses the stream the Formone then up past the medieval farming hamlet La Rimbecca and continue onwards for the village of Gallina situated on the main road the Cassia.
From Ripa d’Orcia to Rocca d’Orcia / Castiglione d’Orcia
From Ripa d’Orcia go along the dirt road towards San Quirico until shortly you come to the small 18C church of San Pietro, after the church take the next turning on the right and head down to the River Orcia where you will find the remains of a travertine bridge that was destroyed when the river was in full flood in 1929. Ford the river and go up to Podere Molina from here there are two possible routes: either straight on for Rocca d’Orcia – Castiglione d’Orcia, or a track to the left which heads through the woods of Scarceta following the banks of the Orcia to arrive at the farmhouse Podere Montemellaccio then up through pine woods to the farmhouse Podere Finochieti and on to Castiglione d’Orcia – Rocca d’Orcia.
